Hard Carved & Painted Model, Republic P47 Thunderbolt 16" wingspan

The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was a World War II-era fighter aircraft produced by the American aerospace company Republic Aviation from 1941 through 1945. The P-47 was the largest, heaviest, and priciest fighter aircraft ever built at the time. This Bubbletop version improved the pilots visibility from the previous versions. The Thunderbolt proved to be highly capable at ground attack, short-to-medium range escort missions and high-altitude air-to-air combat. It was among the main fighters of the USAAF throughout the war.

Up for sale is this Republic P-47 Thunderbolt "Rabbit" Wood Desktop Model. This handcrafted model is painted as it would be seen in WWII and was purchased from the craftsmen in the Philippines in the early 2000's. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff! 16 inch wingspan, 13.5 in long (tail to prop tip) and stands 10 inch tall.

The paint is chipped at the left wingtip. In the photo you can see the missing red paint (white spot)at the wingtip. The propeller has been repaired, I had to glue one of the blades back on.
